When nature Calls
Trips Home
Amsterdam is a city full of expats - many from far flung places. With the rising cost of air and train travel worldwide, many simply decide to not travel home to see friends and family for the holidays. We partnered with our Amsterdam neighbors, When Nature Calls, to create a range of psychedelics specifically targeted at these people. "Trips Home" was born. The thought was that even if expats couldn't get back home physically, spiritually at least we might be able to help them get closer. We took cues from the world of travel for our graphic identity, playing with the idea of a "trip". The typography and line systems for the jars of truffles referenced vintage plane tickets, and the colorful ink-bleeds were inspired by the recessive graphics found on both tickets and the pages of passports. The bleeds were handmade in our studio by mixing watercolors with real mushroom oil to create a series of otherworldly landforms. There were five strengths of truffle in the collection, so these were then color-coded from light to dark. Each jar was individually packaged up with instructions aimed at guiding you through your experience. These were designed like old postcards - the type was specifically set to mimic a more structured trip and each postcard was given a set of bespoke stamps (a nod to postal stamps) outlining travellers potential "intentions" for their trip.
